What is the Law of Attraction?

Just what is the law of attraction and why has it suddenly become so popular? The law of attraction is a universal concept that states we, whether we are aware of it or not, attract whatever we choose to give our attention to. Now, this may sound like pie-in-the-sky. After all, can it really be as simple as that? Really? Simple, it is. And simple it's not. The concept itself is simple, uncomplicated, easily understandable. However, implementing the concept is a whole different matter.
For example, let's say you read of a rising crime rate within your area. Fear rises up inside you. You put extra bolts on the doors, install a security system, buy a big, ugly dog, and barricade yourself inside your house. Now, what are you doing? You are focusing on your fear. All of your attention is on fear. Additionally, your quality of life has rapidly deteriorated. You've basically caused yourself to be paralyzed with fear. On the other hand, you can take the same situation and turn it into a positive. The crime rate in your area rises. You brainstorm for a bit, determine that you live in this neighborhood and you aren't going to let it fall into the hands of thugs. You talk to your neighbors and jointly band together, get your local law enforcement involved, take positive steps to ensure safety within your neighborhood. Now, do you see how much better, more positive, more fulfilled you would feel in taking positive action rather than becoming a miserable hermit? You have, maybe without realizing it, intended positive results for you and those around you. Intentionally, you've created your own reality.
This goes back to the age-old premise: Ask and ye shall receive; seek and ye shall find; knock and the door will be opened.
Now to answer the second part of our question: Why is this so popular? Look around you. Observe people, just in the way they walk and talk. Few have the confidence and the successful lives they've dreamed about. Many have lost their dreams along the way. They walk with their heads down, their shoulders slumped, with dim eyes. Is this any way to live? These people need hope, and when hope is presented to them in the form of the principles of the law of attraction, some find renewed hope in realizing their dreams. This is why the law of attraction is becoming so popular: people need hope, and many people realize they can find it here.
In my next post, I'll let you in on a few things happening in my own life simply because I've put into place the principles of the law of attraction.
In the meantime, I urge you to read the book, Law of Attraction by Michael Losier. You'll be glad you did.
